Muscatel, nutty body, perfect Darjeeling.

Background

This is a fine Muscatel Second flush Darjeeling. And as good an example as can be found without spending 20 to 30 pounds more for the pleasure. One of my favourite estates in Darjeeling and this is one of the best grades produced on the estate. Many second flush teas are sold as Muscatel and offer no hint of grape and therefore the taste is little known away from serious Darjeeling buffs. Most Tea Estates produce a large range of grades much of which is of no interest here, with this second flush we can see the true quality of the estate and how well managed it is.

Perfect preparation

Take the time to prepare this tea perfectly! Do not use to much, if any, milk it will create a disaster. Add boiling water to two teaspoons of tea to a half litre teapot. Leave your tea to steep for three minutes. Try a little. Test if your tea is a little thin, if so, leave for another one or two minutes but no longer. Your tea is ready .
