Tasting notes Delicate smooth Oolong. Flowery notes and well balanced. Background Some of the tea gardens of the world deserve recognition for their efforts to bring trade to rural economies. Our Nepal Oolong comes from Jun Chiyabari Estate which is growing Himalayan Orthodox tea two hundred km from Kathmandu at an elevation of 6000ft. The tea garden has a perfect climate for a slow growing tea. The estate buys tea from local growers which supplements their incomes. The best teas are processed by Jin Chiyabari Estate and sold under there name. Estate management have ensured a constant fine high grade tea.
The taste of the tea is delicate flowery tones fine for afternoon teas without milk. Jin Chiyabari is still a young tea estate and this is reflected in the tea and its price. Enjoy this tea now as a fine second flush Oolong. And look out for an ever increasing quality tea that will fetch high prices in years to come. Perfect preparation Boil freshly drawn filtered water and leave to cool for thirty seconds. Add two teaspoons of Nepal Oolong to a small teapot. Add water to the leaves and leave to steep for four minutes. Your tea is ready. Try not to add milk to this tea it will mask some of the finer flavours.
