Tasting notes

Great breakfast tea from one of the original Indo-China tea trees. Certified Organic. Hand plucked from wild trees growing in forests on the borders of Yunnan and Vietnam.

Background

Wild lien so is plucked from tea trees growing in forests that spread from South China to Laos. Indigenous tribes have been plucking and producing this type of tea for centuries. The tea trees yield a huge leaf, compared to modern tea bushes. These leaves are plucked by hand using bamboo ladders to reach the out growing buds. All plucking is of a high standard as is the production which takes place without electricity. For centuries the Bai and Du Lang tribes of North Vietnam have been trading across borders with China. It is our fortune that we can bring this tea to Europe without making any making any changes to this traditional tea production.

Perfect preparation

This is a great tea. Everything about it is correct for me. Slightly strong, good with milk and good without. Fruity and astringent. Full bodied. Vietnam produces many grades of tea. I do not profess to have tried them all. But I have tried a few. In general they do not hold up to much. But it is wrong to dismiss these lesser tea producers based on their mass produced teas.

Easy to prepare. Treat this tea as any other Black Tea, especially Assam. Boiling water onto three teaspoons of dried tea in a half litre teapot. Brew for between three to six minutes. This tea is perfect with milk and will produce a classic breakfast tea.
