Jasmine Dragon Pearls are rare teas of the finest order.

Dragon Pearls are hand processed. After plucking two leaves and a bud in spring. Tea Workers roll the finished tea, ready to be added to Jasmine Flowers later in the season. Fresh Jasmine flowers are added to the tea up to seven times before they are finished and rolled into small balls, which keeps the Jasmine aromas fresh in the tea.

Look out for the fine downy bud as the tea opens in your cup. You are looking at the finest White tea from Fujian Province home of White Teas.

Perfect preparation

There is a temptation to sit and Watch 'the agony of the leaves' with a tea of this quality. I am all for this, a glass tea pot will give you the opportunity to watch the whole display. But it is widely felt in the tea world that glass is not the best for fine teas. So we are really caught between two stalls here. Perfect preparation is to use a Li-Xiang teapot or a Japanese Teapot. These give the best results.

Boil Freshly Drawn filtered water and leave to cool for two minutes. Although this is a White Tea I find the Jasmine scent needs a higher water temperature to balance well with your tea.

Add one teaspoon of Dragon Pearls to a half litre teapot and add your cooler water. Leave the tea to steep for between two and three minutes. You will know when to drink this tea because the pearls will start to open. Your tea is ready. You can use the tea leaves up to five times if you like but at five times the finer aromas are all but gone.
