Tasting notes

Fine grade of one of the most famous teas in China. Full and fruity green tea giving the authentic China Tea taste. Rich in healthy anti-oxidants.

Background

Dragon Well Lung Ching is one of the most famous green teas in China. It has many legends written about it. And all Chinese know that the best Lung Ching teas should be made with water drawn from the ancient Dragon Well. Alas we do not stock this water bottled. So we will have to make do with filtered water. Our choice of Lung Ching is Organic and plucked before the rains of summer. It has been produced in Hangzhou County, Zhiejang province, China. This is the spiritual home of all Lung Ching Tea. Grown at altitude this tea spends almost the whole year in mist. The leaf is a wonderful flat dark jade. With a soft light scent and red veins showing the tea as high grade.

Perfect preparation

Prepare Lung Ching without much fuss. Boil freshly drawn filtered water and leave to cool for four minutes. Add two teaspoons of leaf to a small clay pot of about 300ml. I always use a Li Xiang clay pot for Lung Ching. Add your cooled water to the leaves and leave to steep for two minutes. Lung Ching is not a very fussy tea. You can steep it longer if you like it like that. Your tea is ready. Do not throw away your leaves yet. They will make the or four pots before they loose all flavour.
